Foggy Mt Rainier Surprise Marriage Proposal
Hayley and Nicholas already had plans to hike at Mount Rainier when Nicholas reached out to me. He wanted to propose early on the trail, take engagement photos, and then continue their hike together.
We chose the perfect spot less than a mile in, complete with sweeping views of Mount Rainier, a waterfall, river, wildflowers, and the Tatoosh Range. Summer in the park usually brings sunny weather, but Rainier is so massive that it often creates its own local climate. That’s exactly how Nicholas ended up proposing in the fog.
At the bench where he planned to propose, Nicholas pulled out a letter. It wasn’t until he started reading that Hayley realized what was happening.
A few pages in, she was smiling and laughing, eager for him to get down on one knee. As soon as he did, the clouds parted and revealed the best view of Mount Rainier.
Afterward, we continued with their engagement photos as the mountain played hide and seek with the weather. One moment the view was crystal clear, the next it was moody and cloud-filled, only to open again minutes later.
When we wrapped up their photos, we parted ways on the trail as they began their first hike as an engaged couple – a milestone moment they’ll never forget.
Congrats again, Nicholas and Hayley!
