Tacoma Botanical Garden Marriage Proposal

Hannah planned a best friend photoshoot for Serenity as a guise to propose. It was an easy excuse to take her shopping for a new dress, get her hair and makeup done, and spend the day of the photo shoot getting pampered with her childhood friend, Avery.

Hannah had everything figured out except for the location of the photoshoot. She wanted the location to feel like they were in a fairytale — Serenity’s a bookworm — but it also needed to be close to their home in Tacoma so as to not draw suspicion.

The W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory was the perfect fit. It’s a historic greenhouse with over 300 plants inside of Wright Park.

On the day of, we started with a few best friend photos outside before wandering into the greenhouse, where Hannah waited in a quiet corner. I posed Serenity for a “creative shot,” asking her to turn away from me while Avery moved out of the frame. That’s when Hannah stepped in and got down on one knee.

A few happy tears, big smiles, and tight hugs later—they were engaged!

Congrats again, Hannah and Serenity!
